Maid of Honor
I had just moved to NYC and started working at CDM when I met elizabeth. We were paired up as copy/art partners and became friends instantly. We bonded over our shared love of cats, wine, hello kitty, sushi on conveyer belts, and crab rangoon. A little while later I demanded the desk next to hers and the rest was history. Working late nights, happy hours, tapas with our men, karaoke—the last few years have been amazing. I can’t imagine my new york life without Elizabeth, and couldn’t be more thrilled and honored to be apart of her and KJ’s wedding day.
I remember getting a call from my mother that KJ was bringing home his new girlfriend to CT to meet the ‘rents. Fortunate for her I wasn’t there to meet her! Haha. She did get to meet my daughter though during this visit, and my little girl loves Auntie Elizabeth to the moon and back. When I finally did get to meet Elizabeth, I honestly felt a weight lifted off my shoulders! Just seeing my brother SO happy for the first time in a long time was enough for me, but she was also AMAZING! I always hoped that I would end up with a sis in law that was not only great for my brother and a great person in general, but someone I could also call my sister, and that’s exactly she has become! Oh and she loves her wine which I found out rather quickly, so just a plus to the whole package ;-)))
Elizabeth, whom I affectionately call Cheetah, and I met in the Temple University Ad Program around 2005 and first bonded over our mutual desire to make fun of a pretentious and uninspired creative thinking teacher. We brainstormed an inappropriate nickname for said teacher within hours (her real name was Santucci and ours went something like sand-in-my…) and so the relationship between Cheetah and I began. I was drawn to Elizabeth immediately and impressed by her witty quick humor, creative sensibilities, and unwavering loyalty to living life. We spent the next few years to graduation aligning our class schedules, pulling all-nighters, making fun of all the slacker dudes in our classes, and just shaking things up down in Philly. My college experience wouldn’t have been what it was without her.
Immediately following graduation, we parted ways as Elizabeth headed to NYC, but the bond we formed has stuck through years and countless visits with each other across cities. She has been with me through job hunting, moves, make-ups, break-ups, good times and bad. She is irreplaceable as a best friend, sister, and guiding support in my life.
And then there was KJ. When Elizabeth met KJ I was thrilled for her from the start, he’s attractive, plays sports, and holds his own as a charismatic force living life to the fullest, just like her. They are perfect for each other and it has been clear since very early on that they really love other. KJ and Cheetahs is the type of relationship that takes each of their individual attributes and combines to make a really awesome big thing. They are larger then life. When I found myself with the unique opportunity this past spring to accept a job at the agency where both Elizabeth and KJ were working, Elizabeth and KJ could not have been more supportive of my move from Philly (literally I slept on their couch for a month). Fresh arriving to the big city, with only a handful of friends to name in my new home, KJ and Elizabeth really became my NYC family, and I couldn’t think of two more genuine people to have on my side. I am beyond excited to see what the future will bring as they get hitched and I look forward to sharing in the future of their beautiful relationship for many years to come.
Elizabeth and I met at CDM, but it was our men that really brought us together! A couple years ago we brought KJ and Dave to a work party, and by the end of the night they were finishing each other’s sentences. Their quick bond and mutual love of horror movies led to our first double date – seeing Zombieland on opening night – and the rest was history. I’m so glad that Elizabeth and I have become such close friends, and I’m honored to be part of her and KJ’s special day!
As a Texas girl who found herself living in the big city, I was lucky to have first met and made friends with KJ while working at our ad agency, CDMiConnect. We quickly bonded over past relationships and crazy client antics. It really was a treat to have such a genuinely nice, spikey-haired guy on my team. ;) Soon after, KJ met my husband, Kieran, and they became fast buds (aww). But when we finally met his lady Elizabeth, well that was just the icing on the cake. Elizabeth was, and still is, one of the most giving, fun, and hilarious chicks I know. I feel so lucky to have her as a friend and confidante. And needless to say, a few games of washers, a dozen dinners on the deck, and about a hundred bottles of wine later, the four of us found ourselves inseparable and truly cherishing our friendship.
Elizabeth and KJ – we love how our friendship has grown and we’re so very happy to share this special day with y’all. Here’s to many more years of fun and festivities! You two are meant for eachother (you silly penguins). Welcome to the world of being married – it only gets better from here!! xoxo
Erica Van Meter
Maid (not matron) of Honor
Well, isnt this a little awkward for the bride…Elizabeth and I met while dating brothers (neither one of which made the final cut:)!) Our first encounter was at the brother’s annual Christmas party, but that was the day that this only child met her only sister! We became fast friends and have seen one another through the best (and worst) of times. Elizabeth is one of those people that you meet that changes your life forever and for the better. I can’t tell you all the wonderful things that I have to say about her…I have to save some for the speeches! If you saw us in a crowd, you couldn’t pick two more different people than Elizabeth and I, but that is what makes us the best of friends, sisters forever and the ying to each others yang.
It certainly makes it easier when your best friend and husband love each other, it warms my heart every time I see them hang together. There is a bond between them that just rocks. But unlike many of the other gals, Elizabeth and I brought our boys together…GO US! KJ and Matthew are two peas in a pod or perhaps more like a QB and his center. It is going to be such an an honor for us to stand by your sides on your wedding day, watching our best friends tie the knot. XOXO
Matthew Van Meter
Born in the Poconos, Matthew Van Meter graduated from the mountainous ski slopes to the northern suburbs of Philadelphia. He first met KJ through Elizabeth, who took up temporary residence at Van Meter condos during a brief stint as a homeless person. KJ and Matthew quickly hit it off and have been close ever since, mutually sharing in their affection of sports, bourbon, and humor. Matthew currently resides with his beautiful wife Erica and two pit bulls, all of which are kind, loving, and lick your face the minute you walk in the door.
David Johnson aka Rick from Arizona
While working as a copywriter for an ad agency in Manhattan after his recent run for political office failed due to indecent tweeting, Dave dated Kristen who introduced him to Elizabeth who introduced him to KJ who started spewing off horror films like he was ordering pancakes and BLIZAM…an undying bromance began. Then, after seconds of contemplation, Dave came to the conclusion that Elizabeth is also one BAMF and needs to be a part of Kristen and his wolf pack. And so it came to pass and this dynamic 4-some has been rippin’ and a tearin’ ever since.
Ben Mazzochetti II’s life can be best described in one word… Gold… Spending his adolescence in the depths of a self speculated coal mine, he dug away most of his late teens in search of something glorious and valuable. Long days and, a debilitating case of the black lung, kept him focused and determined to find what he thought was rightfully his. Then, like the hammer of Thor, his pick axe struck into the earth with a fateful blow, freeing his unbridled treasure from a block black coal!! Gold!! 43 lbs to be exact! All Ben’s hard work and determination payed off (literally) and he was finally comfortable with starting a new, and after watching such highly regarded television programming such as “real housewives of manhattan” and “fuhgettaboutit!!(the new York cake man)” he realized where his true heart was. New York City!! So he packed up his handkerchief bundle and wheeled his clump of gold straight to the big Apple.
Well… Spending most of his early years in a coal mine didn’t teach Ben much about financial planning and within 3 months Ben had spent all his gold on crystal champagne, an elaborate and extensive collection of ugg boots, and the baddest Bluetooth cellular phone on the east coast. Now, broke and cellular planless, Ben needed a job! So he scratched together what gold he had left, got himself a 3pc suit and hit the job market til he finally landed a job as a copywriter at the pharmaceutical company Fergey & Gergmen. This is when Bens entire life changed. While chatting away at the water cooler he got in an intense conversation with a stunning Brunette about the film Encino Man and the cultural significance of the phrase “Shuuuush!!”. Finding sooo much in common with this stylish woman he had to ask her name and to complete surprise she said “Elizabeth Mazzochetti”!! Could it be?! Be, in fact, had an older sister who is completely righteous and is indefinitely getting married to a spectacular man named Kevin James Hanna. They all lived happily ever after!!!
I met KJ on my first date with his mom, 19 years ago. He was actually quiet towards me at first being only 13. Our relationship grew slowly at first, then…LOOK OUT! 14 to 18 the rebellion began…black fingernails, beer, captain Nimo..LOL (ask him about this one)..college, etc. Years go by fast, and our bond never breaks. He has grown into one of the best men I know. We have a versatile relationship; he can be a son I am very proud of, or the friend I want to Hang with. Elizabeth!!!!!…You are a perfect fit with KJ, and now you’re an extension of our family. We are always excited to see both of you and look forward to many many more years of fun and family. Love you both!
Here’s a little story about a boy from the burbs who was big into playin’ ball.
From the day he started little league, all he wanted was to go pro.
But those dreams eventually gave way to reality, so he settled for fantasy hopes.
Soon after college, he broke into advertising with the sweetest fauxhawk the biz had ever seen.
And with hair like that, it was only a matter of time before he met his future wifey.
Before long, the happy couple moved to Brooklyn, with 2 cats in tow.
Several months later, she said “I do.”
You can imagine how the rest goes.
“His name?” you say. It’s actually Kieran, not KJ.
